HighMont Beef® is what a nationally recognized Cardiologist calls the “Cardiac Cow” and what we call the “Buff Beef”
Our HighMont Beef® herd is born, raised and harvested in the Northern Great Plains on green pastures for most of the year, the old fashioned way. We produce our beef in a climate featuring outstanding farm land with abundant moisture and hay, oats and flax available at reasonable prices.
In spring, summer and fall, our cattle feed in open grass pastures. In the winter months (December through May) we feed locally raised grass hay in feeders in the open pastures.
Our cattle are further given a specially designed supplement of rolled oats and flax seed to increase levels of omega-6 and omega-3, all natural high protein minerals, and pure water from our own well. They are raised at nature's pace - not mans - in a chemical-free field environment and without growth hormones or antibiotics.
We personally walk among our HighMont herd and handle them daily. We maintain a calm, peaceful and stress-free environment and transport them with the utmost of humane treatment. Our cattle are processed at a USDA licensed and inspected facility which together with our supervision guarantees the best HighMont Beef® for our own family, friends and customers.
With the endorsement from the Chief of Cardiology from a local regional hospital (see Endorsement Page) and after selling to the public through health food stores, hospitals and fine dining establishments, we are convinced that our customers who are in that group of heart and general health-conscious consumers, now have the opportunity to enjoy an all natural, low fat, low cholesterol, tender and delicious beef.
